How this index was compiled
Compiled and maintained by the Book Korea Medical research team (editor: Suji Oh). Every figure in this index comes from a published source: clinic rate cards, mandatory non-covered price disclosures, and consumer platform listings, compiled in July 2026 across 16 treatment categories. Each price row carries its own source note. Only standard list prices are recorded — time-limited event or promotional pricing is excluded by rule, because promotional rates are conditional and short-lived. Where a clinic publishes both a standard and a promotional figure, the standard figure is used.
Korean won is the source of truth throughout. US dollar conversions use ₩1,540 per dollar, the July 2026 reference rate recorded in the source files, rounded to the nearest $10 and marked approximate. VAT treatment varies across sources: some published prices include it, while others quote it separately at 10%, so the ranges should be read as pre-verification bands rather than checkout totals.
Fifteen of the sixteen categories had verifiable published pricing; scalp and hair-loss therapy was reviewed but excluded from this edition because no published list price met the inclusion standard. The tables below break each category into the units clinics actually quote (per area, per shot count, per cc, per session), drawn from the full 85-row dataset. Notes and corrections — Jul 9, 2026: the foreign-patient VAT refund on cosmetic and aesthetic procedures (Special Tax Treatment Control Act Articles 107-3 and 107-4) expired on 31 December 2025 and was not extended for 2026, so every figure in this index is a full price with nothing to reclaim afterward — this was clarified in the FAQ. Within any single category, the product and the unit count move the price more than the clinic does. Domestic botulinum toxin brands sit at the low end of the injectable ranges, while imported brands price higher for the same area.
