From first message to recovery, in six steps
Tell us what you need
Share the treatment, preferred area, and your language. It takes a minute and costs nothing.
Get matched and quoted
Our multilingual team matches you with KHIDI-registered clinics and sends a transparent written quote — no markup.
Plan your trip and visa
We confirm dates and, when your stay needs it, issue the treatment-confirmation documents a medical visa application requires.
Arrive with support
From Incheon Airport to the clinic, we coordinate directions and on-the-day interpretation through our platform.
Treatment and payment
You pay the clinic its transparent rate on site, with Korea's 10% VAT already included. We tell you in advance whether a deposit applies — and since the former foreign-patient VAT refund ended in 2025, the figure you settle is final.
Recovery and follow-up
We help schedule recovery time before you fly home and keep a follow-up channel open for aftercare questions afterward.
Entering Korea for treatment
Most short-stay visitors enter Korea under a visa waiver or the K-ETA electronic travel authorization, which covers a typical aesthetic visit comfortably. You travel as you would for any short trip — no special paperwork needed for a brief stay.
When a treatment calls for a longer stay or formal documentation, a short-term medical visa is available. The application asks for proof of your booking and a confirmation from the treating institution. We prepare and issue that treatment-confirmation document for you as part of matching, so the visa step is straightforward rather than a scramble.
Tell us your nationality during the consultation and we will flag exactly which route applies to you, with the current entry requirements, before you book anything.
Transparent pricing, paid to the clinic
You pay the clinic its own rate, directly. Book Korea Medical earns a commission from participating clinics — never a markup added to your treatment price — so the figure on your quote is the figure you pay. Where a booking is secured with a deposit, we tell you the exact amount in advance; the balance is usually settled at the clinic on the day of treatment.
Korea's 10% VAT is already included in every price you are quoted. The former foreign-patient VAT refund on cosmetic procedures ended on 31 December 2025 and was not extended for 2026, so there is nothing to reclaim afterward — the transparent figure on your quote is your final, effective cost.
| Stage | What happens | What you pay |
|---|---|---|
| Consultation & quote | Multilingual matching and a written, transparent quote | Free |
| Securing the booking | Reserve your appointment and dates (when a deposit applies) | Deposit, disclosed up front |
| Day of treatment | Treatment at the clinic with interpretation | Balance at the clinic's transparent rate |
| After treatment | Aftercare follow-up through our platform channel | Nothing — the price you settled is final (VAT included) |
Interpretation in your language
Consultations run in five languages — English, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, and Spanish. From your first question to your quote, you communicate in the language you are most comfortable in.
On the day of your appointment, we coordinate interpretation through our platform messenger so you and the clinic understand each other clearly — what is being done, what to expect, and what to do afterward. All communication runs through Book Korea Medical; you never have to negotiate directly across a language barrier.
Recovery, and support after you fly home
Every treatment has its own recovery window, and we build that into your plan from the start so you allow enough time before your flight. Your quote includes an expected timeline, and we help schedule any in-person follow-up visit while you are still in Korea.
After you return home, we keep an aftercare channel open. You can reach us with follow-up questions, we can relay them to the clinic, and we can help you arrange any records your doctor at home may need for continued care.
Common questions about treating in Korea
How long should I plan to stay in Korea?
It depends on the treatment. Many non-surgical aesthetic procedures need only a short visit with little downtime, while procedures with a recovery window may need several days to two weeks. We give you an expected timeline with your quote so you can book flights with confidence.
How do I get from Incheon Airport to the clinic?
Incheon connects to Seoul by the AREX airport railway, limousine buses, and taxis. Once your appointment is set we send clear directions in your language and, where a clinic offers it, help arrange a pickup.
Do I need a medical visa?
Many short-stay visitors enter Korea under a visa waiver or the K-ETA travel authorization. When a longer stay or formal documentation is required, a short-term medical visa is available — and we issue the treatment-confirmation paperwork the application asks for.
How and when do I pay?
You pay the clinic directly at its transparent rate — we never add a markup. Some bookings are secured with a deposit; we always tell you the amount up front. The balance is typically settled at the clinic on the day of treatment.
Can I claim a VAT refund?
No — the former foreign-patient VAT refund on cosmetic procedures ended on 31 December 2025 and does not apply in 2026. Korea's 10% VAT is already included in the price you are quoted, so there is nothing to reclaim afterward and no paperwork to file: the figure you settle is your final cost.
Will someone interpret during my appointment?
Yes. Consultations run in five languages, and we coordinate interpretation for your appointment through our platform messenger so you and the clinic understand each other clearly.
Can a companion travel with me?
Of course. Let us know during matching and we will factor a companion into scheduling and logistics.
What happens if I have questions after I fly home?
We keep an aftercare channel open after your visit. You can reach us with follow-up questions, and we can relay them to the clinic and help you arrange any records your doctor at home may need.
